A TIER 2 restaurant has warned diners from Tiers 3 and 4 to stay away after cops slapped one customer with a £200 fine for breaching coronavirus rules.
Officers carried out a check at the Belle Vue restaurant in Filey, North Yorks., and demanded diners gave proof of their address at tables.

One man was handed a £200 fine as a result of the check, the restaurant revealed on Facebook.
A post from The Belle Vue reads: “Important – we don’t want you getting a £200 fine.
“Last night we had a routine police check where everyone’s address was checked and who they were sitting with.
“It resulted in one gentleman receiving a fixed £200 penalty.
“Do not come if you are in Tier 3 or 4. Do not sit with someone who is not registered at the same address as you. The police are doing checks and you will get fined.”
People living under Tier 2 restrictions can only dine inside restaurants with members of their own households.
They should not be joined by people in Tier 4 who must not travel outside their region.
In Tier 3, residents are advised not to travel from their areas where possible.
'WE WILL USE POWERS'
The Belle Vue's warning received a mixed response from customers, with one person writing: "Good to see this happening....though sad it has to. Know too many rule breakers!"
Another added: "I have friends that work in a couple of restaurants in Scarborough and the police are in regularly, asking people for proof of address."
But the warning did not deter everyone.
One person wrote: "If I want to see my family I will. If it costs me £200 so be it. Money means nothing, family means everything."
Before Christmas, North Yorkshire Police announced they would be carrying out checks across the region to ensure everyone enjoys a safe festive period, Hull Live reports.
Police revealed that 55 fines were to Tier 3 residents who ventured into the City of York the weekend before Christmas, with “over 100 more tickets in the pipeline”.
Superintendent Mike Walker, who is leading the North Yorkshire Police response to Covid-19 said: “Throughout the pandemic, we have been very clear about our approach.
“We have stated our teams would be patrolling, speaking to the public and encouraging them to adhere to the rules.

“Where we encounter people who refuse to adhere to the regulations and believe their pint is more important than someone’s life, we will use our enforcement powers."

He added: “People very clearly know and understand the risks, they know that this virus is deadly, they will know about the identification of a new strain and know the serious steps the Government has taken in the South East, so there really is no excuse for acting so irresponsibly.
“We remain undeterred from our objective to keep the people of North Yorkshire safe.”
